The open practice is on Friday 2nd November between 7:30pm and 8:45pm, in church.

Light party on October 31st

October 22nd, 2007

On October 31st we are having a light party, as a fun alternative to Halloween and to celebrate the good things in life. There will be games, songs, craft and a cooked tea, and we encourage everyone to come wearing really bright colours!

The light party starts at 4pm and finishes at 6pm. It is for all children at school between Reception and Year 2. If you are interested in your children coming then please contact us for more information and a booking form.

Stewardship @ St Edyth’s

October 7th, 2007

Over four Sundays in October and November, we’ll be looking at Stewardship. As Christians, we believe that God has given us life and everything that is a part of that: our world, our relationships, our personalities, our abilities, our wealth and much more besides.
We hope that during these services and the times between them, we will all have a chance to think and pray about what and where God might be calling us to give. This isn’t just about money: we’ll also be looking at time and talents. And it isn’t just about a narrow definition of church: it’s about how we spend time with our families and communities, our working lives and everything else that we do each week.
If you have any questions about the Stewardship series then do contact us for more information.

Not too late to join Alpha!

September 17th, 2007

Our latest Alpha course is starting on Tuesday 18th September. The Alpha course is an informal and practical introduction to the Christian faith. If you would like to come along, it’s not too late to join: we are meeting at 7:30pm at St Edyth’s. Do let us know if you’re coming so that we can cater for you, though - you can use the form on the Contact us page. Thank you.

World’s biggest coffee morning - Friday 28th September

Come and join the ‘World’s biggest coffee morning’ on Friday 28th September in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. Coffee and cake will be served in the church between 10am and 12 noon. Everyone is welcome.

Harvest service and lunch - 30th September

September 14th, 2007

Our harvest service this year will be on Sunday 30th September. The service will be for all ages, and will start at our usual time of 10:30am. We would love to welcome you there.
During the service we will be invited to bring gifts: this year our gifts will be going to one of the organisations we support in Bristol, One25. They work with vulnerable women in the centre of Bristol, and would appreciate gifts of toiletries (like shampoo, make-up, toothpaste) or dry food (like cereals and tins).
After the service you are welcome to join us for lunch in the church hall - there is no charge for this and we would love to have you join us as we celebrate God’s goodness together.

Focus on One 25 at St Edyth’s

September 9th, 2007

One of our mission links for this year is the One 25 project, which works with vulnerable women in Bristol.
On Sunday 16th September, One 25 will be visiting St Edyth’s to update us on their work and to let us know how we can support and pray for them. Please do come along to the 10:30am service to find out more as we support them in this important work.

Our new website goes live

August 29th, 2007

We’ve finally managed to get our new site up and running and we think it looks fantastic (and hope that you do too!) But we would love to know what you think about the site: which bits are useful, where there are any mistakes or things that could be improved. Do tell us so that we can make sure this is as good as it possibly can be.

To give us some feedback, you can either leave a comment on this post, or go to the Contact Us page and email Edward Huxley, the curate. Thanks!

Baptism preparation class

August 28th, 2007

One of the things that we regularly do in our services is give thanks for the life of children. These services could be thanksgivings, christenings or baptisms. If you’re interested in having a service for your child then you need to come along to our preparation class, which is held over two evenings. The next dates for this class are Thursday 20th September and Thursday 4th October, both at 8pm in church. Parents and godparents are encouraged to attend.

Please do let us know if you are interested and are coming along: you can send us a message from the Contact Us page. Thank you.
