Prayer
At St. Edyth’s we very much believe in the power of prayer. We have seen people’s lives changed in both big and small ways because of prayer, and we believe that God has the power to change situations that we are in. Here are some of the ways in which we pray at St Edyth’s:
Morning Prayer
Most mornings in the week, a few church members meet together to pray for things happening in our lives, the church, and our local community.
Prayer Chain
When requested to do so, a small team of church members pray for specific people or situations, passing it from one to the next in a chain. All requests are prayed for each day for a month. This can be extended or updated as required.
Prayer Ministry
At St Edyth’s we also have a Prayer Ministry Team. Members of this group are available after the 10:30 am service, should you wish to pray about anything that’s on your mind.
This team are involved with the special healing services that we hold at least 4 times a year. The team meet once a month for training, always trying to improve how we pray with or for people.
Prayer on the Square
A recent initiative has been Prayer on the Square. This has involved a couple of the Prayer Ministry Team sitting outside Sea Mills post office twice a month offering prayer for anyone who wants it. The response to this has been amazing, and we are pleased to offer this service to our community.
All prayer is undertaken confidentially, and details are not passed on to anyone outside of these groups.
Can we pray for you?
If you would like us to pray for something particular, you are welcome to come and pray with someone after the service on a Sunday morning. We’d love to see you and pray with you.
Alternatively you can email us using the form on the Contact Us page. Select the option to send it to the Prayer Team, and we will make sure that we pray for you for at least 2 weeks.
