Mission Links
St Edyth’s church supports six mission links by prayer, finance and interest. There are six ‘focus Sundays’ during the year when we can learn more about the people and missions we support.
In 2008 we are focussing on (click on the titles for more information):
Christian Aid
We have particular interest in Lydia Pike, one of our members, who is working with Christian Aid for this year.
Careforce
We are supporting Katherine Brealey, one of our members, who is working with Careforce for this year in a church in Southend.
Open Air Campaigners (OAC)
OAC is concerned with evangelising in the towns and villages of UK and also in many countries overseas.
ONE25 Project
This is an organisation in Bristol that reaches out to and helps vulnerable women.
South American Missionary Society (SAMS)
SAMS assists churches in the Spanish and Portuguese speaking world. We particularly support Jonathan and Hilary Rowe who are involved in theological education in Spain.
Work in Pakistan
We are actively supporting the work of a lady in Pakistan who is involved in community and social improvement work.
Uganda Link
Bristol diocese has a link with the dioceses of Nebbi, Kitgum and Northern Uganda. We pray for and support the bishops of these dioceses and also Archbishop Henry Orombi.
