The Engine Room
Prayer at St Edyth’s

The Engine Room is the most important part of a ship – without it, no-one on board will get anywhere. So it is for St Edyth’s and prayer.
We need to engage with God and with each other so that we can grow in maturity and depth as followers of Jesus.

You’ll find a number of different ways of praying together below – early mornings with others, on Zoom or in person, in triplets at times and places to suit you, after a morning service and on monthly Sunday afternoons at Deeper.

Our Become Team help to keep prayer high up in our church priorities. Do get in touch if you would like to know more.  Become Team leader is Liz Fry available via email elizabeth.a.fry@icloud.com or via the Church Office 0117 968 6965.

We meet at church on the third Saturday of the month for a light breakfast at 8:30am followed by prayer from 9am to 10am.

We pray for all that God is doing at St Edyth’s, as well as within the wider community and our mission area churches.

We gather on Tuesday mornings from 7am, alternating each week between meeting in person at local homes, or online via Zoom.

We pray for the Kingdom of God to break out into our community.

These meet every month or so, to bring personal prayer needs to God.

You can join a triplet or form your own.

Our prayer team are available after a service to pray with you or for you.

This is always confidential and in sight of others.

Do you ever feel you’d love some more time and space to continue cherishing God’s presence, bringing our worship and prayer to the Lord in an informal setting?

Sometimes Sunday mornings can feel rushed, and we’d like to allow more time for spontaneous praise, for sharing of scripture, for the prophetic, for time to linger in the Lord’s presence, for time to seek and pray in line with God’s will for us at this time.

We gather in the round with some song booklets, with a guitar/piano, with our Bibles, and with expectant hearts…

This gathering takes place on the first Sunday of the month at 5pm on alternate weeks at St Andrew’s Church, Avonmouth and St Edyth’s.
