Following Jesus, Bringing hope

Children and Families Minister

Part-time (15-20hrs) 18 month fixed term contract
£10,826.40 – £14,435.20 PA

Do you want the opportunity to grow in your leadership, and bring fresh vision, creativity and new life to our children and families ministry? Do you long to be part of an authentic community where we journey, love, live and laugh together as followers of Jesus?

This mission-focused season at St Edyth’s is bursting with opportunity to reach out wider in mission and deeper in discipleship as we seek God to bring revival in our community. We are looking for a Christian leader with a heart to see children grow as life-long followers of Jesus. We are seeking the Lord for both an evangelist and a disciple-maker, someone who is an inspiring role model with a deep prayer life, a love of Scripture, and a passion for living out their faith in the power of the Holy Spirit. They will ideally have a track record of training, inspiring and growing volunteer-leaders to assist them in this vital ministry.

St Edyth’s is an informal, ‘Word and Spirit’ church in a suburb of North Bristol, affiliated with the New Wine Network. You will be responsible for leading our Children’s and Family ministries, training and gathering a volunteer team around you, and working with the leadership to build strong links between our fringe ministries (toddlers, schools work and mentoring) and our gathered church community. We are currently in a Vacancy, and although this post is for a fixed 18th month contract, this will be subject to review at its conclusion.

Deadline for applications: Sunday 31st July 2022
Interviews: week commencing 8th August 2022

If you would like to know more, we invite you to have an informal conversation with one of our Church Wardens, Heather Daw on 07544 766 839 or David Spottiswoode on 07544 766838. Further details about the role including a full role description and application form can be found by clicking below:

There is a genuine occupational requirement that the appointee to this post should be a Christian with a living faith, able to recommend Christ from personal experience of His grace (Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010). We are fully committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and expect our volunteers and staff to share this commitment. Applicants will be expected to comply with our Safeguarding polices and training, including an enhanced disclosure (with barring data) before commencing this role.
